Kelly Kirschner - "Is Just a Genuinely Good Person"

“Kelly is not trying to be a politician. Kelly is trying to effect positive change.” Manatee County Commissioner George Kruse has known Kelly Kirschner since they were kids. They played football together at Cardinal Mooney, where they both learned the Ten Commandments, including the Eighth: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. So when someone calls Kelly a “career politician,” George sets the record straight. Kelly turned down other career paths to serve four years in the Peace Corps. When he had done what he set out to do at City Hall, he walked away. A career politician doesn’t do that. A public servant does. Joe Gruters sat in the same classrooms at Cardinal Mooney. Some lessons stick better than others. Southwest Florida deserves a leader with a good heart who listens and then acts.
