"That’s Just Who Kelly Is” – Manatee Commissioner George Kruse on Kelly Kirschner
“That’s just who Kelly is.” Manatee County Commissioner George Kruse puts people over party and explains why he supports Kelly Kirschner for Congress in Florida’s 16th District.
Kruse and Kirschner met at 13, played football together, and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School together. Kruse says he has watched the same man for 40 years: “Kelly on Friday was literally the exact same person as Kelly in 1989.”
Is Kelly Kirschner a career politician? Kruse says no. “Kelly is not putting on a show. Kelly is not trying to be a politician.” Kirschner became the youngest mayor in Sarasota history in his first race. He took on FPL and Benderson and worked on Payne Park. Then he walked away from an easy second term. In Kruse’s words, Kelly said, “I did what I was here to do” and went on to do something else for two decades.
After earning his master’s at Georgetown, Kirschner joined the Peace Corps, building huts and bringing clean water to people in need. Kruse explains why: “That’s just who Kelly is.”
Kruse calls Kirschner a common-sense centrist and a fiscal conservative. He has known him for four decades, and his verdict: “Kelly’s just a genuinely good person with a genuinely good heart. And that’s what we need in DC.”
Kelly Kirschner has accomplished what he came to do before, and he is running for Congress to do it again. People over party. Let’s Fix This!
